In the age of globalization, the homeland, as a fundamental pillar of national identity, plays an undeniable role in fostering social cohesion, particularly in multi-ethnic societies such as Iran. This qualitative study, employing a social constructivist approach, examines the semantic construction of homeland within the discourse of 47 Baloch women in Zahedan. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed using Braun and Clarke's thematic analysis method. Findings reveal that participants hold a profound attachment to the concept of homeland. In their interpretation, the homeland is characterized by distinctly feminine traits and a multifaceted personality. Moreover, participants construct their lived experience of the homeland against a backdrop of perceived failure. Thus, it can be argued that the gendered construction of homeland serves as a domain for expressing "complex belonging," where love for the motherland intertwines with a critique of structural discrimination. The results demonstrate that homogenizing identity policies fail to accommodate these multi-layered attachments. Recognizing diverse narratives of the homeland, acknowledging the role and status of women in the country, and mitigating inequality-producing policies are prerequisites for establishing sustainable national cohesion. Such measures will significantly deepen both the conceptual and experiential understanding of homeland among Baloch women
